Terms and conditions upon registration for an English Theatre Düsseldorf Workshop or Course
Registration and Payment
I. Participants are to use the online registration forms on the ETD website to register for English Theatre Düsseldorf Workshops and Courses. Places are allocated on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
II. All Workshop and Course fees can be found on the ETD website www.english-theatre-duesseldorf.de and must be paid before the commencement of said Workshop or Course.
III. On completion and by clicking “submit” on the online registration form, the participant’s place is now confirmed, and therefore the participant has agreed to make the payment. The participant must pay (via the PayPal payment link on the registration form or bank transfer if preferred) the full price of the Course or Workshop within 7 days of submitting the registration form (an automatic email will be sent to the participant on completion of registration form - please check spam in case it has landed there by accident). Should the payment or a proof of payment not have been received by the end of the 7th day, the place will be canceled and released back to the public. Should the participant wish to actively cancel their place, please follow the cancellation policy below.
IV. In special circumstances for participants who are unsure about joining the weekly Course, they may attend a one-off trial class for the cost of the first class. PLEASE NOTE: Priority is given to participants who have booked a full semester in advance, meaning participants who book a trial class are only offered a spot if there are still places available. To enquire about a trial class, please contact education@english-theatre-duesseldorf.de
V. Registration for Courses and Workshops will be accepted up to the day of Course commencement and payment required in full.
Cancellation and Amendment Policy
I. Should a participant wish to cancel their place after registration is complete and payment has been made, please contact us on education@english-theatre-duesseldorf.de with your request. Should the cancellation request be made:
● more than 21 days before the Course or Workshop starts, 100% of the fee will be refunded.
● between 20-14 days before the Course or Workshop starts, 50% of the fee will be refunded.
● less than 14 days before the Course or Workshop starts, 0% of the fee will be refunded.
Exceptions for urgent medical reasons may apply.
Following the above refund policy, should the participant register for a Course or Workshop less than 14 days before the course start date, the fee is 100% non-refundable.
II. No refunds or make-up classes are offered if a participant misses a class.
III. There is no entitlement to cancellation or fee reimbursement if the workshop leader is changed/a cover teacher takes the class.
IV. English Theatre Düsseldorf reserves the right to make changes to the Course Programme.
V. In order to facilitate a lesson and create dynamic groups, the minimum number of participants per Workshop or Course is 5 (five). In the event of a Workshop or Course not reaching the minimum of 5 registered participants, it may be canceled and in this case, a full refund would be given to those already registered. If canceled, participants will be informed one week before the Workshop or Course commencement at the latest.
VI. In the event that the workshop leader is unavailable, a cover teacher from the ETD team will be arranged. In the event that a cover teacher cannot be arranged, the class will either be postponed to the end of the Course or canceled and a full refund for that class given. Any refunds will be issued when a Weekly Course has concluded.
VII. If only one participant is available for a class, then it is their/their parent or guardians decision whether it should take place. If canceled, a refund will not be given for that class.
VIII. If no participants arrive at the given start time of the class, the teacher is obliged to wait 30 minutes for potential latecomers. If there are no arrivals after 30 minutes, the teacher is permitted to leave.
Participant Information
I. All participants under 18 must have the permission of a parent/guardian to attend the Workshop or Course.
II. On joining a Course or Workshop, participants and parents of participants acknowledge that they are making a commitment. Regular weekly attendance is therefore essential, not only for the workshop leader, but also for the participants themselves.
III. For participants attending a year long Course: Attendance is particularly key for the 3rd term and end of year performance rehearsals. Failure to commit to classes and rehearsals during this period may result in removal from certain scenes, songs and/or roles.
IV. Participants should arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts to ensure that they are ready for the class start time, and if being collected, to be collected at the designated time at the end of the class.
V. We kindly ask parents of participants to drop off their children and return in time for pick up. We do not allow parents to view weekly classes unless it is the end of term performance.
VI. If a participant is going to be absent from their weekly class, please contact education@english-theatre-duesseldorf.de or the workshop leader in advance.
VII. Participants are responsible for their own property. English Theatre Düsseldorf is held harmless against all claims or demands arising from individuals’ participation in a Workshop or Course and is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.
VIII. Participants must act in a respectful, polite and non-discriminatory way to their co-participants and the workshop leader, during every class. There is zero tolerance against any type of discrimination, harassment or bullying regarding sex, gender, race, religion or belief and disability. Our workshop leaders ensure to create a safe, non-judgmental, empathetic & team-oriented space, while always being open to feedback and improvement. Participants should also follow the instructions of the workshop leader during a class without judging the teacher or others and communicate with the teacher clearly and in advance, for any necessary feedback/personal requests regarding the course and its structure. Failure to follow this policy, ETD reserves the right to refuse admission to a course/workshop or withdraw a participant from a course/workshop if their behaviour is detrimental to the enjoyment or development of the other participants. This would result in discontinuation of the course with immediate effect. In this case, no refund will be given for any remaining classes.
IX. All participants must take care of the workshop space. In case there is any damage caused by accident or on purpose, neither English Theatre Düsseldorf nor the workshop leader is liable/responsible for damage costs.
X. Participants should let us know if they or their child have an allergy, medical concern or special need that may impact the student's participation & safety during a course or workshop. It is vital that we know all of the details so we can act appropriately.
